Argument 1 - You are talking about your finances... but maybe the essay task was more related to affecting a friendship. So, probably, even though your point may be true, it is not necessarily answering to the task question. And remember that the most important criterion that's being taken into account is called TASK ACHIEVEMENT.
Two recommendations: 1) The topic sentence (argument) should be more connected to the THESIS. 2) In the explanation you can develop what we talked in class.
