The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, abbreviated as CEFR, is a conceptual framework created in Europe (and adopted in Colombia), which provides standards for Learning, Teaching and Assessment of languages.
The objectives of the CEFR are:
Further intensify the learning and usage of languages as a means to facilitate international communication.
Promote and facilitate cooperation of educational institutions in different countries.
Provide a sound basis for the mutual recognition of language qualifications.
Assist learners, teachers, course designers, examining bodies, and educational administrators to situate and coordinate their efforts.
